Kay was diagnosed with cancer during our school days. I remember her brave battle with the disease during our Bay High days. Her parents were Dr. Dixon and Hodge McCloy. Dr. McCloy was a noted surgeon in Panama City. Her brother, Ross, is an attorney here in Panama City with the Harrison, Sale firm.
Kay and I were the best of friends from Mowat thru Bay High. She was diagnosed with cancer when we were in the 10th grade. I felt so lonely while she was gone when she was being treated at St Jude's Hospital in Memphis. Then we graduated from BHS and went to The University of Alabama together and were roommates. She was going to be a doctor like her dad. She went to all the classes that I didn't want to go to because they involved Math and Science. When we were there, they were having a pretty good roll with The Bear. Richard Todd was the quarterback -- Chip Tillman and Ralph McElreath were football players and graduates from our class at Bay High -- Kay made me laugh!! She was truly my best friend and I miss her!
