Mark Cooper

Mark C. Cooper, 60, of Panama City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, in Gainesville, FL after a lengthly illness. 

Mark was a native and life-long resident of Panama City, and was a 1973 graduate of Bay High School and a graduate of Gulf Coast Community College. He worked in the family plumbing business, and was Secretary-Treasurer of the Central Panhandle Fair Association. Mark was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City and the Bay Disabled Outdoorsman Association.

Survivors include his wife, Linda B. Cooper; a daughter, Christina Cooper; his parents, W. C. and Sara Cooper; a brother, Matt Cooper and wife Cheryl; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. 

Asked to serve as pallbearers are Norvin Thibodeaux, Jimmy Vickers, Jimmy Warr, George Heaton, Bob Johnson and Mark Hawley. Honorary bearers will be the Board of the Central Panhandle Fair Association and all members of the Bay Disabled Outdoorsman Association. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mark's name may be made to the Humane Society of Bay County, 2620 E. 15th St., Panama City, FL 32401.
