Jack Kenneth Blackwell, 51, passed away Friday, May 18, 2007, at Bay Medical Center.

Ken was born Oct. 20, 1955, in Panama City, Fla., a son of the late Jack and Theola Thompson Blackwell. Ken was a member of First Baptist Church and had been a pharmacist in Panama City for many years. Ken graduated from Auburn University in 1978 and was an avid Auburn fan. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and collecting coins and fossils. His black lab, Jesse, was a special joy for him. He was the founder of Panhandle Video as well as other real estate ventures.

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Cameron Blackwell; one son, Brent Benjamin Blackwell; one daughter, Jaclyn Anne Blackwell; one sister, Jean Addison and her husband, Stuart, all of Panama City; one brother, Steve Blackwell of Orlando, Fla.; and his mother-in-law, Barbara Cassler of Panama City.

A service will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 22, 2007, at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Mike Salsman, Walt Abbott, Keith Hall, Ken Russell, Rod Morris and Greg Brudnicki. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Fore, James Porter, Mike Ruppel, Larry Buchanan, Richard Walker and Ron Sinicrope.

Ken was in pharmacy school with me. It is hard to believe it was so long go.
